The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf (NSP, XCI) ROM + v1.0.19.1 Update + DLC

The Smurfs – Mission Vileaf is a platform video game developed by OSome Studio and published by Microids. This video game was based on the Belgian animated series The Smurfs (and in turn in the Belgian comic book series of the same name, created by Peyo).

It was released for the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and the PC on October 26, 2021, and the Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2021, and launched for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X sometime in 2022. The game is believed to be canon with the Smurfs 2021 Animated Universe unless otherwise noted.

Embark on a forest-saving quest! In a dusty tome, Wizard Gargamel has unearthed the sinister VILEAF formula. This wicked plant spawns “VILETRAP” seeds, ensnaring unsuspecting Smurfs. Yet, these toxic VILETRAPs pose a grave threat to the forest, especially the sarsaparilla fields.

PAPA SMURF rallies fellow Smurfs to assist in procuring ingredients for a potent antidote against the VILEAF’s curse. Utilizing the SMURFIZER, a creation of HANDY SMURF, join this adventure to locate the components and liberate your Smurf companions, safeguarding the entire village!

SUMMARY

In a tale narrated by Poet Smurf, Gargamel creates a monstrous plant known as the Vileaf, which spreads its seeds and contamination across the forest. To counter this, Handy Smurf developed the Smurfizer, a device that sprays pollen from a flower that is curiously immune to the Vileaf. Hefty Smurf, the first to use the Smurfizer, collects the flower and makes his way to the dam. After facing Vilecritters, monsters spawned by the Vileaf, he saves Lazy Smurf from a Viletrap, a growth of the Vileaf that acts like a living prison.

Papa Smurf discovers that there is a formula that can heal the Vileaf itself, but it requires three special ingredients. Brainy Smurf takes up the Smurfizer and sets out to recover the Agua Magnifica, the first of these ingredients. He rescues Jokey Smurf and Handy from Viletraps along the way, before arriving in Wild Smurf’s territory. He then traverses Wild’s incomplete ropes course to locate the Agua Magnifica, which to his disappointment is only water from a particular waterfall.

Brainy returns to Smurf Village, but must then set out again to rescue Dimwitty Smurf from a Viletrap before it can alert Gargamel to the village’s location. Chef Smurf next heads to Cooking Pot Castle in search of the next cure ingredient: Pink Crystals. Having visited the castle often before with the leave of Chef Toctoque, Chef is appalled to discover the castle vacant and filled with corruption from the Vileaf. He eventually determines that the chefs of the castle have been cooking using corrupted plants.

Eventually, he obtains the crystals, after rescuing Greedy Smurf from a Viletrap after discovering that his fellow Smurf snuck out to the castle ahead of him. Papa Smurf heads out in search of Silver Hellebores, the final cure ingredient, but fails to return when expected from the swamp where they grow. While the male Smurfs agonize over what to do, Smurfette takes the Smurfizer and sets out in search of Papa Smurf.

While traversing the swamp, she spots Gargamel out gathering ingredients and eventually finds Papa in a Viletrap. She rescues him but falls into a gorge, losing the flower that powers the Smurfizer in the process. She is then forced to make her way through the swamp to retrieve the flower without the benefit of the Smurfizer’s abilities and ultimately succeeds.

With the cure complete, Hefty heads to Gargamel’s hovel with the Smurfizer to heal the Vileaf. He discovers that Gargamel is attempting to enhance the Vileaf, and destroys the wizard’s spell book to thwart his plans. He then rescues several captured Smurfs before heading up to the attic to find the Vileaf. He successfully heals the plant, putting an end to Gargamel’s Vileaf scheme.

PLOT

In a dusty grimoire, the wizard Gargamel just put his hands on the formula of an evil plant: the VILEAF. This plant produces “VILETRAP” seeds, which can attract and imprison Smurfs… but these VILETRAP plants are also a great danger for the forest, as they are TOXIC, especially for the sarsaparilla fields!

PAPA SMURF decides to ask some of his fellow Smurfs to help him find the ingredients for a super powerful antidote for all the plants sick from the VILEAF. Thanks to the SMURFIZER, an invention from HANDY SMURF, go on an adventure to find the ingredients and free your fellow Smurfs… and save the whole village!
