Tetris Effect: Connected (NSP, XCI) ROM + v2.0.2 Update

Tetris Effect: Connected is a puzzle video game, developed by Monstars Inc., Resonair, and Stage Games and published by Enhance. It’s a new version of the 2018 title Tetris Effect It will be released on November 10, 2020, for Xbox consoles and Windows PC; while it will work as an expansion for the owners of Tetris Effect, being available as a free update in 2021.

The expansion was made available for existing platforms in August 2021. Versions for Nintendo Switch and Amazon Luna were released in October 2021 and August 2022, respectively. Offers an immersive and visually stunning reinvention of the classic puzzle game.

With local and online multiplayer options, players can enjoy the game together regardless of location. The game’s music, visuals, and effects synchronize perfectly with gameplay, creating a captivating experience. It features over 30 stages, each with unique elements that evolve as you progress.

The new “Zone” mechanic allows players to manipulate time and earn bonus rewards. Cross-platform multiplayer enables players to compete globally, and various competitive and cooperative modes add to the excitement. Spectator mode allows up to 8 people to join and engage with emotes during matches.

GAMEPLAY

As in the original Tetris game, the player must place tetrominoes into a playfield to create complete lines, which are then cleared from the playfield. Tetris Effect adds themes and music across thirty different stages with gameplay tied to the beat of the music. A new “Zone” mechanic allows players to “stop time”, allowing the player to clear more than 4 lines at once, which is more than what is possible in conventional Tetris games.  The game also includes a meta-game leveling system that leads to new challenges for players as they progress. Tetris Effect: Connected is the original Tetris Effect with all-new co-op and competitive online and local multiplayer modes.

CONNECTION

A version for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 via the Microsoft Store was announced on July 23, 2020. Titled Tetris Effect: Connected, it was released on November 10, 2020, and was also made available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch. This version includes a new cooperative multiplayer mode, as well as the new competitive mode that pays homage to the first console versions of Tetris with its simplified visual style and stricter rules similar to those used during the Classic Tetris World Championship.

Connected was released on Steam on August 18, 2021, and was made available as the free multiplayer expansion for existing PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR, Epic Game Store, and Oculus Quest versions on the same day. The Nintendo Switch port was released on October 8, 2021. A physical release of Connected for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch produced by Limited Run Games was made available for preorder on June 17, 2022, and preorders ended on July 31, 2022. The game was made available for Amazon Luna on August 26, 2022. A PlayStation 5 version of the game was released on February 22, 2023.

• Join in on the fun in Spectator mode – Spectator mode is available in Friend Matches. A room can contain up to 8 total people. Spectators can use emotes during the match to liven up the competition.
