The game is fully voiced in Northern Sami and has been called the world’s first video game to be released in Sami. The name of the game Skábma is Northern Sami and means camouflage in Finnish.

STORY

The main hero of the game, Áilu, finds an old hidden witch’s drum and is unwittingly drawn into the middle of events bigger than himself. The drum opens the lost connection with nature and spirit animals. At the same time, a mysterious disease begins to spread in the area, infecting plants as well as people and animals. Thanks to the drum, Áilu is now the only one with the means to save everyone and stop the spread of the disease.

In the game, Áilu uses a drum to reveal a spirit world invisible to other people. With the help of the drum, he can communicate with the spirits of nature and the dead souls of people. As Áilu’s journey progresses, she gets help from different spirit animals. Using the powers of spirit animals, he can advance to new areas, solve riddles, influence and shape the disease spreading in the environment, and fight against enemies corrupted by the disease.
