SD GUNDAM BATTLE ALLIANCE Deluxe Edition is an exciting new action RPG that brings together Mobile Suits and characters from throughout the Mobile Suit Gundam universe. The game takes place in G: Universe, a world where Gundam canon has been twisted and turned in unexpected ways. As the player, you lead a 3-unit squadron made up of Mobile Suits and pilots from across Gundam history, forming a powerful Battle Alliance to correct the world’s distorted history.

GAMEPLAY

Similar to the Dynasty Warriors Gundam series, Battle Alliance’s gameplay is hack ‘n’ slash action where the player must traverse a map in their mobile suit to complete tasks and defeat enemies for objectives. Each unit has a main weapon and a pair of sub-weapons for their attacks which have an ammo count, as well as melee attacks which do not cost ammo. Additionally, hitting enemies or taking damage will also increase the player’s special gauge, and they can unleash a powerful attack once the gauge is full.

Each enemy, whether generic, aces, or bosses, has its level, with stronger-leveled opponents having more health and damage. Aces and bosses also have the balance gauge, which is depleted whenever the player does damage to them and will be stunned once the gauge is emptied. Additionally, hitting enemies from behind will deal more damage and empty the balance gauges much faster. Encountering and defeating aces will also give the player MS data and blueprints, which can be used to unlock and develop more playable units.

The player may take two partners with them, but these partners cannot be the same name (e.g.: OYW Amuro and CCA Amuro). If one partner has their health depleted the player can attempt to revive them by using a repair kit, though this leaves them stationary and vulnerable. The same applies vice versa, if the player’s health has been depleted, they can use a repair kit as long as their partners are alive.

Each unit, however, only has a limited amount of usable kits. Each partner has a default unit though they can be assigned other units, and will also provide extra buffs to the player’s stats. The player’s friendship with these pilots will also affect these buffs as they will increase after victories together but will decrease if the partner has been defeated in battle.

Initially, the player must enter altered battles where the distortions may either prevent key characters or events from normally appearing or swap out characters from another timeline. To solve this, the player will be sent to “Break Missions,” the source timeline of the characters causing the anomalies to obtain “Fragment Keys.” Once enough has been obtained, the player may take the keys to clear the original battle as it was meant to be.

The game features combo action with stunning visuals and dynamic animation, allowing you to indulge in a wide array of Mobile Suit weaponry to crush your enemies. The Mobile Suits are portrayed with realistic weathering, showcasing them as weapons of war as they tear across the battlefield with dynamic animations. Strange phenomena called Breaks are twisting legendary moments from Gundam history, and it’s up to you to fix them.

PLOT

The story revolves around the player (referred to purely as “Commander”) assisting a programmer named Juno Astarte from the GR Corps who has detected anomalies within the G (Gundam) Universe. These anomalies cause “breaks” to occur, scrambling several units from different universes and placing them into battles and situations that could potentially alter another universe’s history.

Now, with the help of the AI program named Sakura Slash, the members of the GR Corps must enter the various timelines to stop these breakages and to undercover the mastermind behind this new virus.  You can experience Gundam history’s most famous scenes as you develop new Mobile Suits to add to your arsenal.
