This is a fighting video game by Chilean independent developer AOne Games and distributed by Dutch video game publisher Soedesco. It is available for PlayStation 4 . Its premiere took place on November 6, 2018, in the virtual store of the respective platform and on November 27 of the same year in physical format.

The roster includes icons such as Frankenstein’s monster and Egyptian high priest Imhotep and is a traditional 4-button fighting game that rewards or punishes players based on their aggression. The game has a skill-based spin on combat while being accessible to newcomers.

Omen of Sorrow’s 2.5D brawling takes place in multiple detailed locations with handcrafted animations and cinematic finishers, all backed by the masterful soundtrack of composer Francisco Cerda. This definitive version of Omen of Sorrow features the full character roster, an enhanced story mode, and cross-platform online play.

GAMEPLAY

The roster has 12 characters, based on different popular legends and mythical monsters. The combat system has its personality with the inclusion of a system called “Fortune and Fate”, which indicates utilizing a bar (Fortune at one end and Fate at the other) how the combat is being conducted if the player defends until the bar is up to the maximum Fate, he is penalized with a status called “Cursed”, which will prevent him from defending himself for a few seconds. And if the player attacks until he fills the bar to the maximum Fortune, he will be able to perform combos more quickly and will obtain unlimited blocks for a short period.

GAME MODES

• Story mode: The game has a poor campaign that is limited to dialogue boxes while the characters are on stage, that is, there are no cinematics.
• Arcade mode: Consecutive battles using a character whose story is revealed as the player progresses.
• Multiplayer mode: Player against player on the same console or player against player online.

PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

• Gabriel: He was orphaned when a monster murdered his mother, since then his hatred against the supernatural has only grown. He possesses incalculable power that he is unable to control perfectly, due to his angelic lineage.
• Zafkiel: a celestial envoy who has dedicated her immortal life to confronting chaos and evil. She recruited Gabriel to aid her in her fight and also trained him to handle her abilities.
• Quasimodo: Born with a deformation that turned him into a hunchback, Quasimodo protects the “Book of Tears” in his tower, a mission that was entrusted by his beloved Esmeralda before she was condemned and hanged.
• Imhoteph – A mummified man who claims to have been a god in ancient times, until he was betrayed and dismembered. Now that he has returned to life as a mummy, he uses magic to confront his enemies.
• Dr. Hyde – After preventing his human counterpart, Dr. Jekyll, from getting rid of him using poison, Dr. Hyde uses his scientific knowledge to ensure that Dr. Jekyll is never a bother again.
• Vladislav III: With an uncontrollable desire to drink human blood, Vladislav used the Book of Tears to try to cure his condition but instead became an immortal vampiric creature. Now his goal is to recover his humanity.
• Caleb: Little or nothing is known about Caleb, the werewolf curse prevents him from leading a peaceful life, however, he prefers abandoned and uninhabited places.
• Adam: When scientist Victor Frankenstein became involved with Vladislav, he learned about arcane arts, and using magic and science he created Adam but at the cost of his own life. Now Adam wanders around Europe, looking for someone he can bring back to his father.
• Radegonda – She was previously a human named Adelheidi who lived peacefully with her family and fiancé, but her loved ones were murdered by evil creatures, and Adelheidi used magic to become the vengeful succubus known as Radegonda.
• Victorious: A headless spectral horseman.
• Thalassa: known as the Invisible Queen.
