Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is an updated expansion of Attack on Titan 2. The game will be made available as an upgrade pack for those who bought the digital base title. this game known in PAL regions as A.O.T. 2, is an action hack-and-slash video game based on Hajime Isayama’s manga series of the same name released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Windows, Xbox One, and Stadia.

This game is also an action-packed game based on the popular anime series “Attack on Titan.” It includes the stories from seasons 1 to 3 of the anime, providing an immersive experience for fans. Players can join the Scout Regiment as an original character and relive key events from the original manga, offering a unique perspective on the story.

The game features over 40 playable characters, including familiar faces like Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and Levi, as well as new characters introduced in the third season of the anime. Players can engage in thrilling battles using the ODM Gear, allowing them to navigate the environment with unparalleled speed and take down Titans by targeting their weak spot, the nape.

New equipment has been added to enhance the gameplay experience. The Thunder Spear, a powerful weapon, can be utilized in challenging situations, especially against Titans that are difficult to defeat with traditional blades. Additionally, the Anti-personnel omnidirectional mobility Gear introduces a new way to fight, with players shooting enemies instead of relying solely on blades.

This opens up opportunities for intense human-versus-human battles in addition to Titan combat. One of the new modes introduced is the “Territory Recovery Mode.” In this mode, players can recruit their favorite characters from the original story and form teams to reclaim territory beyond the walls.

By fostering camaraderie among characters, players can unlock unique conversation events that provide exclusive insights and interactions. Please note that “Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle” includes the content from the “Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle Upgrade Pack.”

GAMEPLAY AND PLOT

The game features cel-shaded graphics and features the player defeating the Titans in large, open areas. Key new features over the first title include a story mode that’s entirely playable in co-op, as well as a character creator. The game covers the plot of the first 50 chapters of Attack on Titan (also covered by the first two seasons of the anime adaptation).

The player primarily experiences major events of the series through an original custom character who fights and interacts with characters of the manga. As a child, the player’s character joins the 104th Cadet Corp, intending to slay the Armored Titan for killing their parents during the breach of Wall Maria. The last mission of the base game has an original ending, non-canonical to both the anime and manga. The DLC “Final Battle” covers chapters 51 to 90 of the manga (also covered by the third season of the anime).
