Aeterna Noctis is a 2021 Metroidvania video game developed in Spain by Aeternum Game Studios. It was released in December 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (through Steam and Epic Games Store). This extended gameplay takes place in the Ascension Cave, one of the 16 areas of the game, each one with its setting, atmosphere, and level design.

Running on the Unity Engine, the game is planned to be released in 2021 for PlayStation and Xbox systems, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and will be available in seven different languages: Spanish, English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian.

The series narrates the story of a pair of monarchs who, after being cursed with immortality, have been fighting and killing each other for eternity. But then, a revelation unleashes a chain of events that makes the monarchs find a way to break the curse and find love in the process.

Taking the role of King of Darkness, the player will explore a huge world divided into 16 different and connected areas filled with secrets and enemies to deal with. The core of the gameplay element is its skill-based combat mechanics and platform sections. Aeterna Noctis feels like a challenging but fair game that rewards the player. Its fast-paced combat is assisted by a clever level design based on multiple corridors and platform sections.

An expansive nonlinear action platforming adventure beckons you. Traverse 16 zones teeming with trials and missions, immersing yourself in the boundless cosmos of Aeterna. Assume the mantle of the King of Darkness on his quest to reclaim his lost powers.  But beware, beneath the surface, a deeper, unforeseen narrative awaits, to be uncovered by you, the intrepid player.
