PLOT

The Mad Father is set in northern Germany, where the 11-year-old protagonist, Aya Drevis, lives with her father, Alfred, and their maid, Maria. Aya is a shy girl who has never been outside. Her mother, Monica Drevis, was seriously ill and she likely passed away before the match. Her father, with Maria’s help, was conducting secret research in a laboratory in the basement of her house. Aya knows that Alfred is experimenting and murdering people in his basement and that he is having an affair with Maria, a young ex-homeless man he picked up on her street several years ago.

On the anniversary of Monica’s death, shortly after the start of the game, Aya wakes up in the middle of the night and is surrounded by test subjects who have escaped from the laboratory. Aya runs back to her room and meets a mysterious salesman, Ogre, who offers her the task of infiltrating her father’s laboratory and solving a puzzle to uncover her secret. Aya was interested in preserving her humanity after her father killed her mother at an early age, so like many of her other children, he imprinted her and kept her. We learn that he was planning to turn her into a doll.

Aya soon realized that her father had murdered her mother out of fear that he would take Aya away to prevent him from grooming her. The game has three endings for her based on the player’s decisions. Meanwhile, Aya allows her undead mother to take her father to another world. After returning to the real world, he encountered Maria, knocked her unconscious, and took her to the basement, where he murdered her and turned her corpse into a doll.

In the second ending, Aya saves her father who is captured by her mother’s ghost. However, Monica then reveals to Aya that Alfred murdered her in one of her experiments. In her fear, Aya runs away, pursued by Alfred, who has her chainsaw. In her attempt to escape, she meets Maria. Maria tries to chase her, but when he fails to catch her, Alfred attacks Maria. The game then branches into Aya’s two endings depending on her actions.

When Aya is unable to help Maria and attempts to flee from her mansion in her place, she is discovered and killed by her father, and Alfred dissects her corpse and uses her as his doll. I changed it to one of the. In the end, Aya helps Maria, and she explains that from now on, she will live with them. Maria then kills Alfred and the two women leave the mansion, but the mansion is burned down by Robin, a ghost who is one of Alfred’s subjects. When Aya leaves her burning mansion, she notices that her father’s medical book survived the fire, and she decides to take it with her and resume her life with Maria.

Meanwhile, inside the burning house, Ogre transports Alfred’s spirit to another world, where he is free to experiment to his heart’s content, creating a mature adult clone of his daughter, leading into the events of Misao. Some years later, Aya and Maria created a clinic, where they perform medical services free of charge. A poor woman named Jean Rooney arrives for an examination, and Aya uses anesthesia to render Jean unconscious, claiming that Jean will no longer suffer from her illnesses. In another room, Maria muses that Aya has become just like her father and that the tendencies run in the family, heavily implying that Aya has followed in her father’s footsteps. In an extra scene at the end of the game, you can play through an ending called “If”.
